Prepare yourselves. A party is coming. Celebrating 30, Game of Thrones Style.

With Emmy-season reminding us that we still don't know the premiere date for Game of Thrones Season Eight, I decided to look through a bunch of pictures and relive my last birthday. I was turning thirty and I had known for a few years that I wanted to throw a big party with all of my friends to celebrate. I am a huge Game of Thrones fan (yes, I once waited in line for over three hours to sit on the actual Iron Throne), love Halloween, and have an October birthday so it only seemed natural to have a GoT-themed party. I loved planning all the details, the decorations, and the menu. I especially enjoyed decorating the "Beyond the Wall" cake, making "Wildfire" Jello shots, and cracking up over the "shame" bell I found on Amazon (though, in all seriousness, there is nothing funny about Cersei's walk of shame scene). Besides spending time with people I love, creating a little world to share with them was my favorite part of the night. Now if only I could figure out a good way to mass-brew mulled wine in a small New York kitchen...
